Isotopes Opening Week Washed Out

FAIRHAVEN — Mother Nature forced the postponement of both Isotopes games this week, bringing a wet beginning to the 2009 Slow-Pitch Softball season.

“It’s unfortunate. The guys were really looking forward to starting the season,” Isotopes coach Jon Darling said. “This is why we need some sort of public funding to construct a multi-purpose dome for the Topes.”

Tuesday’s game will be made up at the first end of a double-header on May 5 at Cushman Park in Fairhaven, while Wednesday’s washout will be played Thursday, May 14, in Westport.

The Topes will be back in action Monday, April 27, against the Outlaws in Westport. Check back at DecentCommunity to see how they made out.
