It was the great Jacques-Yves Cousteau who said, “When one man, for whatever reason, has an opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.” For “le Commandant Cousteau” sharing his remarkable studies of underwater life was a truly magnificent gift to bestow on our world — and for that, he’s [...]

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is planning to legalize marijuana, saying if taxed and regulated correctly, the plan “can provide an immediate economic boost to help our country get back on its fiscal feet.”
The president’s marijuana proposal, unveiled by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs early Tuesday morning, touts increased tax revenues and the [...]

Tired of sitting on your ass all day waiting for your girlfriend, or god forbid, your mother to come home and cook you food? Looking for something on the verge of hip and trendy but don’t want the social responsibilities that come with sporting trendy jeans or having a flashy phone? Are you strapped financially, watching [...]

Today The Community is embarking on a new venture and trying our hand at a podcast. We hope to make this a semi-regular feature if people are feeling it.
The podcasts will consist of decent music we hope the rest of The Community will enjoy with a minimal amount of commentary thrown in on the side. We plan on mixing up the [...]

Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed a steady trend of males unbuttoning their dress shirts in the name of style. At the Community, we were always under the impression that unbuttoning the top button (when not wearing a tie) was the way to go. But recent developments have caused us to question this school of thought.
We [...]

One of the purest, back-to-nature endeavors The Community advocates is humping beautiful virgin florists raw dog — preferably in their fragrant workshops of eroticism (aka the local flower shop). Indeed, the unblemished cooter is to humanity what a flower is to nature — life-giving, elegant and fragile.
Penetrating a florist’s pristine orchid raw dog is a conquest of unadultered decency because the [...]

As previously reported, I’ve been playing video games for a long time. At the game Developers Conference going on right now in San Francisco, a company called OnLive is working on a service that streams video games right to your TV. In summary, play these new video games without going out and spending mad cash [...]

Caught an episode of Spike TV’s “1,000 Ways to Die” the other night. It’s an interesting show that illustrates some of the weird way people have died. All portrayals are true stories, but the company changes the names to protect the deceased. How respectful.
Anyway, here’s some of its most interesting ways to die.
Death by Sex
Married [...]

Motives and actions can be ambiguous — and even more dubious when they don’t correlate with one another. An apparent con artist may be seeking life’s simple comforts — yet observers can easily be thrown off by what they witness on the surface.
With that preface, The Community presents the fifth rendering of [...]

It’s late and you need a snack. You walk to the kitchen — bone extended. You’re half awake, you don’t really know what you’re doing, where you are or why. A sandwich beckons to you from your dreams. “Make me… Make me….” You find yourself swaying in front of the fridge. What’s happening to me!? You [...]

Phish announced more tour dates for this summer, including a stop over in Hartford, Conn. The Boston Globe is reporting that there’s talk of the band playing at Fenway. BOSTON, MA — In a joint statement released Wednesday afternoon, financial derelicts Bernard Madoff, R. Allen Stanford, and American International Group (AIG) condemned Decent Community for being the foremost purveyors of decency in America.
This curious alliance between three of our current recession’s figureheads formed to combat a growing sense of optimism and decency amidst widespread financial turmoil.
An [...]

Nothing freaks out The Community more than someone who cares way too much about cats. Cat lovers are usually lonely, older ladies with thick glasses, short hair, whose homes smell like urine. They’re grabbing onto whatever sense of companionship that’s available — even if it’s from a soul-less, sly, and stubborn feline.
Cat lovers will go berserk in defending [...]
